Superstar footballer Neymar was reportedly involved in a training ground altercation with his 18-year-old teammate Robinho Jr at Santos, after the Brazilian star felt he had been disrespected during a session.
According to Brazilian outlet Globo, the incident began when Robinho Jr, son of former Real Madrid and Manchester City forward Robinho, dribbled past Neymar, prompting the senior player to take exception.
An argument reportedly followed after Neymar told the teenager to “take it easy”, which escalated into a physical exchange as the pair pushed each other. Neymar was said to have slapped and tripped Robinho Jr before both players were removed from the training session.
Both Neymar and Robinho Jr were taking part in a reserve training session after being left out of Santos’ squad for their match against Palmeiras, ahead of their Copa Sudamericana clash with Paraguayan side Recoleta.
Robinho Jr’s representatives were later reported to have lodged a complaint with the club’s president over the incident.
However, the situation was eventually resolved after Neymar apologised, reportedly acknowledging he was at fault for the confrontation.
