Israel and Iran exchanged fresh airstrikes on Wednesday, as Iran’s military dismissed claims by Donald Trump that negotiations were underway to end the ongoing conflict.
Iran’s armed forces, led by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, rejected reports of any talks with the United States, saying Washington was “negotiating with itself.” Senior military spokesperson Ebrahim Zolfaqari stated that Iran would not engage in any agreement with the U.S., now or in the future.
The statement follows reports that the U.S. had proposed a multi-point plan to Tehran in a bid to de-escalate tensions. However, Iranian officials said previous U.S. actions during negotiations had undermined trust.
Meanwhile, the conflict continues to intensify. The Israeli military confirmed it carried out a wave of strikes targeting infrastructure in Tehran, with reports indicating that some residential areas were affected and rescue operations are ongoing. In retaliation, Iran launched attacks on multiple locations in Israel, including Tel Aviv and Kiryat Shmona, while also targeting U.S. military bases in Kuwait, Jordan, and Bahrain, according to state media.
Authorities in Kuwait and Saudi Arabia confirmed intercepting drone attacks. One incident at Kuwait International Airport sparked a fuel tank fire, though no casualties were reported.
Despite rising casualties, global economic pressures, and escalating military actions, there are currently no clear signs of de-escalation, as both sides continue sustained offensives.
