United States President Donald Trump issued a blunt warning to Iranian military personnel on Thursday night, urging them to surrender or face what he described as “guaranteed death” amid rising tensions in the ongoing conflict involving Iran.
Speaking at the White House in front of David Beckham’s Inter Miami squad, Trump directly addressed members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, military, and police. He said:
“Now is the time to stand up for the Iranian people and help take back your country. You’ll have a chance after all these years. Accept immunity — we’ll give you immunity. You’ll be perfectly safe with total immunity, or you’ll face absolutely guaranteed death, and I don’t want to see that.”
Trump also claimed that Iran had reached out to negotiate a deal to end the US military operation.
“They’re calling, asking, ‘How do we make a deal?’ I said, ‘You’re a little late,’ and we want to fight now more than they do,” he said.
He added that the Iranian navy has been largely destroyed, claiming the US wiped out 24 ships in three days. According to Trump, Iran now lacks an effective air force and air defense, and he praised the US military, alongside “wonderful Israeli partners,” for “totally demolishing the enemy, far ahead of schedule and at levels people have never seen before.”
On the matter of leadership succession in Iran, Trump commented on Mojtaba Khamenei, the second-oldest son of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who is rumored to be his potential successor with backing from the Revolutionary Guards. Trump, however, said he would personally select Iran’s next leader, implying Mojtaba’s chances were slim.
As tensions continue to escalate, Trump’s remarks mark another dramatic moment in the US-Iran conflict, sending a stark message directly to Iranian forces.
