Actress Merit Gold has spoken out in support of Mirabel, the young woman who recently admitted to making a false claim about being r@ped in her apartment by an unknown man.
Earlier in the week, Mirabel shared a video on social media alleging that a man used a blade to cut her private part before allegedly r@ping her. She also claimed the supposed attacker later sent her a message mocking her after the incident. According to her, the man said he had previously made advances at her which she rejected, prompting him to “find a way” to violate her.
The video quickly went viral, with many expressing shock and sympathy while calling for the alleged assailant to be identified and arrested.
However, on Thursday, Mirabel confessed that she fabricated the story, stating that she has been struggling mentally. Her admission sparked outrage online, with some calling for her arrest and prosecution for making a false r@pe allegation.
In a post shared on Instagram, Merit Gold argued that rather than condemnation, Mirabel needs help and support.
