The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has stated that the all-inclusive governance style of President Bola Tinubu has rendered the agitation for Biafra unnecessary.

Speaking during an inspection of the Enugu–Anambra road on Saturday, December 13, Umahi said the Tinubu administration has provided Ndigbo with what they had sought for decades—not through secession, but through unprecedented inclusion in national governance and development.

He explained that the push for Biafra historically stemmed from neglect, exclusion, and underrepresentation at the federal level. However, he insisted that the situation has changed under the current administration.

“When a people are fully integrated, respected, and empowered within the structure of the nation, the dream they once pursued through agitation is achieved through cooperation,” Umahi said.

He added that President Tinubu has deliberately opened the doors of national development to the South-East, ensuring that appointments, policy decisions, and infrastructure priorities now reflect true federal balance.

“Every sector now bears visible Igbo footprints. The emergence of Igbo sons and daughters in strategic positions is a testament to this inclusion,” Umahi noted.

He emphasized that Biafra was never truly about breaking Nigeria, but about being recognized and counted within it. “Through inclusion, equity, and tangible development, Ndigbo are no longer spectators in the Nigerian project—they are co-authors of its future. When justice reaches a people, agitation loses its voice,” he concluded.
