Nigerian disc jockey, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, who recently turned 33, has reflected on her journey and personal growth, saying she is now choosing intention over noise.
The billionaire daughter noted that while her past birthday celebrations were exciting, they often lacked meaning. According to her, since turning 30, her heart has been craving “substance over flash.”
“For years, my birthdays were loud—popping, crowded rooms, strangers everywhere—celebrations that looked lit but never felt right. Since turning 30, my heart and soul have been craving something deeper,” she wrote.
“As I step into this new age, I’m choosing intention over noise and choosing a life that feels aligned with who I’m becoming.”
This year, Cuppy opted for a quiet celebration at a butterfly zoo, describing the experience as beautiful and unexpectedly meaningful.
“So random, right? Completely unplanned—just something I spotted on Google Maps during a birthday drive—and it turned out to be the most beautiful experience.
“It made me pause and realise how much I’ve grown and how God has been shaping me. Honestly, I have really changed.”
