Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan took to social media on Thursday night to mock her perceived ‘enemies’—just hours after Senate President Godswill Akpabio read her letter inviting him and other lawmakers to her second-year anniversary celebration in office.
During plenary on Thursday, October 30, Akpabio read a letter from Senator Natasha announcing plans for the event. The move surprised many Nigerians, considering the strained relationship between both lawmakers. The duo had clashed earlier in the year over sitting arrangements, a dispute that eventually led to a court case.
Some Nigerians had assumed the public reading of her letter signaled reconciliation between the two. However, later that evening, Senator Natasha took to Instagram to share a video of Akpabio reading her invitation letter. In her post, she highlighted that the Senate President was reading it in the same chamber where he had allegedly vowed she would “never return.”
In a follow-up interaction with one of her followers, who advised her not to “remove her leg from the neck of her enemies”—a local expression meaning she should keep up the pressure on her detractors—Natasha appeared to agree, suggesting she had no plans to ease up on her critics anytime soon.
