All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, has cautioned activist Omoyele Sowore against leading a protest in Abuja on October 20 to demand the release of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.

In a post shared on his Instagram page, Igbokwe criticized Sowore’s plan, describing Kanu as the initiator of a “totally useless and senseless Biafran project” that, according to him, devastated the South East. He said it would take years for the region to recover from the destruction caused by Kanu’s activities.

His post read:

“FINAL WARNING TO OMOYELE SOWORE!!!
Omoyele Sowore says he is marching to Aso Rock to protest against the detention of the butcher of the South East, called Nnamdi Kanu. I have told him as a friend to run 440. I have alerted his younger brother, Barrister Allen Sowore, to advise him to stay away from Nnamdi Kanu’s matter because it is bigger than him.

I have advised him as a friend, but he will not listen. Nnamdi Kanu shed thousands of blood in the South East over the past 10 years. His men turned the region into a killing field — a lawless zone where life became nasty, brutish, and short. Kanu decimated the South East. He is senseless, without life, soul, wisdom, or understanding.

It was a useless enterprise that set the Igbo nation back by 50 years. We lost respect, honor, integrity, and dignity. We went to sleep, and children, led by the empty head called Nnamdi Kanu, dragged the Igbo nation into a terrible mess that will take years to clean up.

Sowore, Sowore, Sowore — how many times did I call you? Run 440 away from South East matters. You know nothing about what Kanu did in the region in the name of a senseless Biafra project. Blood was shed. I am a victim. Go to Nnewi and see my home. Speak to people before joining this mission. The road leads nowhere. I have done my duty.

If you are from the South West, South South, North Central, North East, or North West, ignore Kanu and the reckless interloper called Sowore. This Aluta Continua adventure is outdated — childish, senseless, and a no-brainer.”

Igbokwe’s remarks come ahead of the planned protest, which Sowore said aims to demand justice and the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in detention since 2021.
