The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two men in separate incidents for the alleged defilement of minors, according to a statement released by Police Spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu.
The first case, transferred from CPS Onitsha on August 8, 2025, involves Emmanuel Sampson, a resident of Odoakpu, Onitsha, who allegedly lured his neighbour’s 8-year-old daughter with the promise of food before sexually assaulting her.
In a similar case on August 14, a report was transferred from the 3-3 Police Division, detailing the assault of a 13-year-old girl by a security guard within a residential estate. The suspect, identified as ThankGod Damian, allegedly lured the victim into an uncompleted building and committed the act.
Preliminary investigations into both incidents are ongoing, and the suspects are expected to be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
DSP Ikenga reiterated the police command’s commitment to pursuing justice in all cases of sexual and gender-based violence. He also urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behavior to the nearest police station without delay.
