The wife and three children of former Niger State Commissioner for Education, Abubakar Daja, have died in a road crash involving a Sienna and a Mazda vehicle.
The fatal accident occurred on Sunday, August 23, 2026, along the Mokwa-Bida Road in Niger State.
According to reports, the victims were travelling from Minna in a Mazda when their vehicle collided with a Sienna. Only one of Hajia Daja’s four children survived the crash.
The teenage daughter, who was the lone survivor in the Mazda, reportedly sustained severe injuries, including a broken rib and a fractured shoulder, and was hospitalised for treatment.
The remains of the deceased have since been laid to rest in Kutigi, the headquarters of Lavun Local Government Area of Niger State, in accordance with Islamic rites.
