Ambassador Reno Omokri has called on the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) to make it mandatory for Nigerian newscasters and on-air personalities to wear made-in-Nigeria clothing and speak with Nigerian accents while on air.
According to Omokri, the increasing number of Nigerian on-air personalities wearing foreign attire and adopting either genuine or contrived foreign accents is alarming.
He said it is time for the NBC to intervene and take steps to “correct” the trend.
