Nigerian Man Gets 13-Month Jail Term in UK for Dangerous Driving

A 23-year-old Nigerian, Michael Chiedu Nwanze, has been sentenced to 13 months in prison in the United Kingdom after a dangerous high-speed police pursuit through Northampton.

According to reports, the incident occurred on March 10 when police officers attempted to stop Nwanze after discovering he was driving an uninsured vehicle. Instead of pulling over, he allegedly fled, accelerating to speeds exceeding 100mph while running red lights and endangering other motorists and pedestrians.

The chase came to an end near the Wilby Way roundabout, where heavy traffic forced his vehicle to slow down before it collided with several other cars.

Nwanze later admitted to multiple offences, including dangerous driving, driving without insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and failing to stop for police when instructed.

He was sentenced at Northampton Crown Court in June and handed a 13-month prison term for the offences.
