Businesswoman Sharon Adeleke has spoken out against the growing pressure to wear clothes only once, encouraging people to confidently re-wear outfits they love without worrying about public opinion.
In a recent video, Sharon, who is also the sister of Nigerian music star Davido, shared that members of her team advised her not to wear an outfit she had previously worn to Coachella because it had already been seen by the public.
Despite the advice, Sharon said she had no intention of retiring outfits simply because they had been worn before. She stressed that she would rather enjoy the clothes she already owns than feel compelled to constantly buy or make new ones for every event.
The entrepreneur revealed that she plans to attend an upcoming event in an outfit already hanging in her wardrobe, adding that people should never feel obligated to keep replacing perfectly good clothing just to meet societal expectations.
Encouraging her followers to embrace confidence over trends, Sharon said, “Don’t let anybody pressure you. Re-rock your outfits as many times as you want.”
Her message has resonated with many social media users, with supporters praising her for promoting a more practical and sustainable approach to fashion while challenging the culture of wearing outfits only once.
