Lecturer Allegedly Beaten by Husband of Married Student Over Sexual Harassment Claim

A university lecturer has been taken into police custody following an incident in which he was allegedly assaulted after being accused of sexually harassing a married female student.

According to reports circulating online, the lecturer, who serves as the Head of the Department of History and International Studies at Northwest University and is also a visiting lecturer at Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN), was accused of making inappropriate advances toward the student.

The woman reportedly alleged that her academic project had remained unapproved for about two years because she repeatedly rejected the lecturer’s alleged sexual demands.

Reports further claim that after informing her husband about the situation, the couple devised a plan to confront the lecturer. It is alleged that a meeting was arranged, but when the lecturer arrived at the agreed location, he was met by the woman’s husband and others instead.

Videos shared on social media appear to show the lecturer pleading for mercy while being beaten before he was reportedly handed over to the police.

Authorities have not yet released an official statement confirming the allegations, and the claims remain unverified at the time of publication. Investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
