“The economy is so bad that these days, I’m too scared to even open some messages on my phone because everyone is begging.” — Dele Momodu

According to him, the country’s economic situation has deteriorated to the point where many people have resorted to begging.

Momodu made the remarks during an interview with journalist Rufai Oseni on Nevon Media, which was shared on Instagram on Wednesday, July 8.

He said the hardship facing Nigerians had become so severe that he now hesitates to check messages on his phone because of the constant appeals for financial support.

“These days, even for me to open some messages on my phone, I’m scared because everyone is begging. The suffering of the people,” he said.

“I’m old enough to know and understand the challenges we’ve encountered in Nigeria before now. Nothing can equal this.”

Momodu also criticised the Federal Government’s handling of insecurity, accusing the administration of failing to show remorse over the country’s current state.
