British comedian Russell Brand has spoken about a past relationship that has sparked renewed public discussion.
In an interview, he disclosed that at age 30, he was involved with a 16-year-old, noting that the age of consent in the UK is 16. He also acknowledged that, beyond the question of legality, the situation raises ethical concerns, particularly due to the power imbalance, as he was already a public figure at the time.
According to him, such dynamics can be exploitative even when consensual. He added that he now views his past actions as selfish and lacking proper consideration for how they may have affected the other person.
