Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has appointed a new Chief of Staff and Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The announcement was made in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, in Port Harcourt on Thursday.
According to the statement, Dr. Dagogo S.A. Wokoma has been appointed as Secretary to the State Government, while Barrister Sunny Ewule will serve as Chief of Staff (CoS). Both appointments take immediate effect.
The governor had earlier dismissed his aides, including former CoS Edison Ehie and former SSG Dr. Benibo Anabraba, following a political crisis in the state and the Abuja “peace deal.”
Fubara stated that the new appointees would be sworn in at 2:00 pm to commence their official duties.
The statement reads:
“Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminialayi Fubara, has appointed Dr. Dagogo S.A. Wokoma as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Barrister Sunny Ewule as Chief of Staff (CoS). Both appointments are with immediate effect.
“The new appointees will be sworn in at 2:00 pm today, Thursday, February 26, 2026. The swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Exco Chamber, Government House, Port Harcourt.”
