Ossai Success, an aide to the Delta State Governor, has publicly criticized Chioma Adeleke, wife of Nigerian music star Davido, over her choice of outfit at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
Chioma attended the award ceremony in Los Angeles alongside Davido, wearing a black dress featuring sheer fabric and floral cut-outs that provided partial coverage.
Reacting on Facebook, Ossai expressed disappointment, saying the outfit did not reflect Nigerian culture.
“I am disappointed in Chioma Davido’s dressing: she shouldn’t have been half-naked to the Grammys,” Ossai wrote. “She didn’t represent Nigerian culture well, embracing a revealing Western style instead. As a role model to many Nigerian young ladies, her dressing internationally will negatively influence them. I also expected Davido to guide her better. Cultural representation matters, and it’s crucial. I am really disappointed.”
The comment has sparked discussion online, highlighting ongoing debates about cultural representation and personal expression among Nigerian celebrities on international platforms.
