The Delta State Police Command, led by CSP Temi Agbede Zuokomor, the DPO of the Ugborikoko division, has made another disturbing discovery through their school outreach program. A 13-year-old girl bravely disclosed that she has been continuously sexually abused by her 32-year-old stepfather.
According to SP Bright Edafe, the spokesperson for the state police command, the stepfather impregnated the girl and even purchased abortion pills he found online.
The girl confided in her proprietress, asking, “Ma, if someone who is not your father is having sex with you, does that mean you and that person have the same blood?” This troubling question led her to reveal that for the past year and eight months, her stepfather had been sexually molesting her. She recounted the first incident of forced intercourse when she was only 13 years old, and it did not stop there; he continued to abuse her almost nightly.
In August of this year, the girl missed her period and informed her stepfather. Despite being her stepfather and married to her mother—who has a child with him—he reacted inappropriately. After purchasing a pregnancy test strip online and confirming her pregnancy, he searched the internet for abortion methods, acquired the necessary drugs, and forced her to take them in an attempt to terminate the pregnancy.
When the girl’s period failed to arrive, he went further and bought an injection intended for intravenous use, but instead forced her to ingest it orally. The pharmacist who supplied him with these drugs has since been arrested. Edafe stated that the case is ongoing and emphasized the importance of safeguarding vulnerable individuals in society.
