England international Ivan Toney was arrested inside a trendy London bar early Saturday morning following an alleged altercation with a fan.

The Saudi-based striker was reportedly escorted out of 100 Wardour Street, a popular Soho hotspot, in handcuffs. According to The Sun, the incident occurred after an individual approached the 29-year-old in an attempt to take a selfie.

A witness described the confrontation: “He walked past a table of a group of lads. One of them recognised him and said, ‘Oh, it’s Ivan Toney,’ and tried to put his hands around his neck to get a photo with him. Toney said, ‘Get off me, get off me,’ and ended up headbutting one of the guys.”

The alleged victim was reportedly left with “blood leaking from the bridge of his nose.” Some witnesses suggested Toney, who was wearing noticeable expensive jewellery, may have felt threatened by the man’s approach.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed they were called to Wardour Street at 00:47hrs on Saturday following reports of an assault. The London Ambulance Service also attended the scene.

A police spokesperson said: “The victim was taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening. A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of two counts of assault and one count of affray. He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.”

Toney currently plays for Saudi Pro League side Al-Ahli, having joined the club from Brentford in 2024.
