Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign England centre-back Marc Guéhi from Crystal Palace for £35 million.

The 25-year-old will undergo a medical in London on Monday before signing a long-term contract with the Premier League champions.

The agreement was reached after both clubs settled on a fee. Liverpool’s initial offer included a £35m payment and a 10% sell-on clause, which Palace accepted.

Guéhi is set to become Liverpool’s second major signing on transfer deadline day, following the club’s £125 million deal with Newcastle for striker Alexander Isak.

Guéhi captained Crystal Palace in a 3–0 win over Aston Villa on Sunday night, scoring the second goal in what is expected to be his final appearance for the club. He did not comment on his future after the match, saying only:

“All I know is when you score goals like that it is always down to team performance.”

The defender joined Palace from Chelsea in 2021 and made 155 appearances, captaining the side and helping them win the FA Cup last season. He has also earned 23 senior caps for England.

Including Guéhi, Liverpool’s total transfer spending this window has reached approximately £451.2 million, not including add-ons. Other summer signings include Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giorgi Mamardashvili, Armin Pecsi, and Giovanni Leoni.

Meanwhile, the club has recouped around £190 million through the sales of Luis Díaz, Darwin Núñez, Jarell Quansah, Caoimhín Kelleher, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Tyler Morton, and Ben Doak.
