Suspected ritualist and kidnapper Obi Levi Obieze, popularly known as Ichie Millions Ezeani, appeared in court today, August 6, wearing a smile despite facing serious charges, including the alleged murder of pregnant women who were reportedly buried alive.
Obieze was arrested while attempting to flee Nigeria following a violent attack on his home in Ezeagu, Enugu State. The attack, carried out by angry community youths, occurred on May 28, 2025, after a suspected failed kidnapping attempt of a 13-year-old girl believed to be for ritual purposes.
During the raid, community members uncovered what appeared to be soak-away pits allegedly used by Obieze to bury victims of ritual killings, including pregnant women, shocking the entire neighborhood.
The case has ignited public outrage, with many demanding a thorough investigation and swift justice. Security officials confirmed that Obieze was captured during his escape attempt and is currently in custody awaiting further legal action.
