Nigerian music star Skales has debunked a viral claim suggesting he divorced his wife over a comment she allegedly made on one of his social media posts.
The singer took to X (formerly Twitter) to address the false report, calling it “really evil” and “not fair.”
“I have never made such a statement, and this is false… Please stop spreading lies,” Skales wrote, while reposting the misleading quote shared by @VERITY_HQ.
The now-viral tweet falsely attributed the following statement to the singer:
“I divorced my wife because of a comment she made on my post and I don’t regret it… People cannot be mocking your husband’s music career… and you join.”
Skales firmly denied ever making the statement and cautioned blogs and media outlets against fabricating stories about his personal life.
