The Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a warning to Israel, emphasizing the potential for escalation unless Israel ceases its aggressive actions against Palestinians.
Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, declared his intent on Sunday to “eradicate Hamas.” His military is preparing to enter the Gaza Strip in pursuit of Islamist militants responsible for a deadly incursion into Israeli border towns that has shocked the international community.
Iran’s highest authority, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, clarified on Tuesday that Tehran was not involved in the militant Hamas group’s attack on Israel. He acknowledged what he referred to as Israel’s “unrecoverable” military and intelligence defeat.
Israel has consistently accused Iran’s leadership of fueling violence by providing arms to Hamas, while Tehran maintains that it provides moral and financial support to the group, which controls the Gaza Strip.
On Sunday, October 15, Iran’s Foreign Minister expressed that other regional parties were prepared to take action if Israel’s aggression persists, as reported by the semi-official Fars news agency.
Hossein Amirabdollahian was quoted as saying, “If the Zionist aggressions do not cease, the hands of all regional parties are on the trigger.”

Amirabdollahian, who last week accused Israel of imposing a siege on the Gaza Strip, stated that an attack on Gaza would “create new centers of resistance” in the Middle East.
He further commented, “The United States and the Israeli government bear direct responsibility for the potential emergence of new resistance fronts in the region and any escalation of the ongoing conflict.”
Amirabdollahian held a meeting with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Qatar on Saturday, during which they discussed the recent attack by the group in Israel and pledged to continue their collaboration in pursuit of common objectives, as confirmed by Hamas, which is backed by Iran.
Additionally, Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, in a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, called for French support to “prevent the oppression of Palestinians.”
It’s worth noting that the Islamic Republic has consistently supported the Palestinian cause since the 1979 revolution.
