NECO Announces 2023 Results, Reports a 61% Pass Rate

The National Examination Council (NECO) has officially unveiled the results of the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted internally.

During a press conference held in Minna on Tuesday, October 10, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, the Registrar of NECO, disclosed that 61.6 percent of the candidates achieved five credits, including English and Mathematics.

In total, 1,205,888 candidates registered for the examination, and 1,196,985 actually participated in the exams.

Breaking down the statistics, Prof. Wushishi highlighted that 616,398 of the candidates were male, while 580,587 were female.

A noteworthy 737,308 candidates secured five credits or more, encompassing both English and Mathematics.

Furthermore, 1,013,611 candidates achieved five credits or more, irrespective of whether English and Mathematics were included, which constitutes an impressive 84.68 percent.

Prof. Wushishi emphasized, “The number of candidates who registered for the examination is 1,205,888, comprising 621,084 males and 584,804 females.”
