Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli forced to deny affair with Shakira’s ex Gerard Pique

Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli was forced to deny she had a 2012 affair with Shakira’s footballer ex, Gerard Pique, as claims resurface in the wake of his split from the singer.

According to Time, Spanish journalist Jordi Martin claimed that Bar, 37, and Gerard, 35, exchanged messages and met up privately, a year after she split from Leonardo DiCaprio, 47.

He claims it was the first time Gerard had been unfaithful.

Martin said: ‘The rift between them began due to Shakira, 45, finding messages from Rafaeli. There were more than messages – there were private meeting also.’

Jordi also tweeted: ‘I sent the information to a source close to Shakira a few days ago. After a while, they finally were able to verify the alleged cheating of Piqué with Refaeli in 2012.

‘A few days ago, I spoke to a close friend of Refaeli’s, who was also my friend for many years, who confirmed the reason for the model’s frequent visits to Barcelona at the time. Shakira was shocked.’

‘Want some more?” Between June 30 and July 6 of 2021, Pique had a trip to Monaco, escorted by someone who wasn’t Shakira. I passed this information along also. Many of these, are new details she wasn’t aware of.’

Rafaeli denied having an affair with Gerard back in August 2021 but the rumour has resurfaced.

She said: ‘We’re just good friends.’

Moreover, Gerard took legal action against Jordi.

Gerard and Shakira announced they had split just four months ago after an 11-year courtship – they have two sons together, Milan, seven, and Sasha, five.

He is now dating new girlfriend, PR student, Clara Chia Marti, 23. Clara is thought to work for Gerard at his company Kosmos, in the Public Relations office.

They claim Shakira is ‘very angry at seeing the father of her children with his girlfriend in public’.

It’s claimed they had a pact in which they would not appear in public with their partners during the first year since the breakup.

According to Spanish newspaper El Periodico, Shakira and Gerard are trying to remain friends for the sake of their children, despite their relationship being strained.

The split announcement followed rumours in the Spanish tabloids that the couple were on the verge of breaking up with sources claiming he had cheated on the star.

Shakira’s statement read: ‘We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.’

Spanish outlet El Periodico reported that the couple have been living separately for a few weeks after Pique was kicked out of the family home by the pop star.

According to sources, Pique has since been living a ‘party lifestyle’ in a bachelor pad and enjoying nights out with his teammates.

Neither party has addressed cheating claims but journalist Emilio Pérez reported: ‘(Shakira) has made the decision to separate. That is so. It has happened.

‘That is why there is distance. Perhaps there is nothing left, but that (infidelity) has passed.’
