A 40-year-old man identified simply as Felix, reportedly from Cross River State, has been found dead in a guest house along Azikoro Road, Ekeki area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, following an alleged sexual encounter with an unidentified woman.
The deceased was discovered naked inside a room at the guest house in the early hours of Wednesday, July 8, 2026, after a cleaner reportedly raised the alarm. The woman said to have been with him was not found at the scene.
Eyewitnesses said several sachets of alcoholic drinks were recovered from the room before the police arrived, cordoned off the area, and evacuated the body. The incident attracted sympathisers to the Seriake Dickson Shopping Complex, where Felix was known to work as a mobile phone repairer.
Three people were reportedly taken into custody in connection with the incident, including the guest house owner and the cleaner.
Felix’s brother, Dennis, was also briefly detained after he was found in possession of the deceased’s mobile phone. He was later released after explaining that the phone had been given to him by a charging operator who had received it while efforts were being made to locate Felix.
The police have yet to determine the exact cause of death, while investigations continue to identify and locate the woman who was reportedly with the deceased before the incident.
