A 22-year-old teacher, Mariam Usman, was allegedly beaten to death by the father of a student she had disciplined in Ugbamaka, Okpo District, Olamaboro Local Government Area of Kogi State.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the tragic incident occurred after Usman disciplined one of her students, prompting a confrontation with the child’s father. The altercation reportedly turned violent, resulting in the teacher’s death.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage and renewed concerns about the safety of teachers, as well as the growing disregard for educators carrying out their professional duties.
