Man Killed as Gunmen Attack Plateau Community

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have recovered the body of a man believed to have been killed by gunmen along the Butura Kampani–Mandung road in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources said troops attached to Sector 5, Bokkos, responded to a distress report at about 9:45 a.m. on June 15, 2026, after receiving information about a suspicious object lying along the road.

Upon arrival, the troops discovered the body of a man, later identified as Dasharo Haruna, a resident of Maihakorin Gold Village in Bokkos Local Government Area.

The body was evacuated by officers of the Keystone Division, Bokkos, for further necessary procedures.

Security authorities said investigations have commenced to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing and identify those responsible.

The area has since been secured, while security personnel continue efforts to maintain peace and prevent any breakdown of law and order.
