A Texas mother of three, whose husband was arrested for allegedly running a prostitution ring frequented by local police officers, has now been accused of coaching women to sell their bodies from the couple’s home.
Ashley Ketcherside was arrested on Wednesday, April 15, on racketeering charges after investigators initially overlooked her alleged involvement when her husband was arrested on April 8.
A wide-ranging investigation revealed that she has two prior prostitution convictions and allegedly offered her services for $1,000 an hour, according to police.
Ashley and Michael Ketcherside are accused of hosting members of the Godley Police Department and their spouses at their home, where they allegedly operated the ring for at least a decade. Court documents state that during these gatherings, Ashley was seen preparing another woman for prostitution.
However, when Michael was arrested, Ashley told Fox 4 that she was blindsided by the investigation and maintained her family’s innocence. “[Michael] is a great husband, an amazing father to my three kids, and I believe in the justice system,” she said.
She denied all allegations, including claims that former Godley police officer Solomon Omotoya paid her for sex, though she added that she believes “two consenting adults should be allowed to do whatever it is that they want to do.”
She also rejected suggestions that she engaged in prostitution herself, despite her previous convictions.
When Omotoya was arrested alongside Michael, investigators say he led them to former Godley Police Chief Matthew Cantrell. According to court documents, Cantrell claimed Ashley charged $1,000 per hour for sex.
The same rates were reportedly found in messages on a burner phone seized from Ashley, according to investigators.
Omotoya and Cantrell are also facing charges related to the alleged sex ring.
Authorities are additionally investigating the group for possible corruption.
The Ketchersides and Cantrell allegedly gathered information on individuals they considered adversaries, including members of the Godley City Council, the Godley ISD school board, and other police officers, according to a statement from the district attorney’s office for Johnson and Somervell counties.
In 2023, Ashley was removed from a Godley ISD committee responsible for determining the district’s sex education curriculum after members became aware of her prior prostitution convictions.
Investigators also allege that she had active advertisements on escort websites while volunteering with various city organizations.
Ashley has been charged with racketeering and is being held on a $200,000 bond.
Michael has been charged with continuous promotion and solicitation of prostitution, as well as racketeering, and is being held on a $450,000 bond.
Cantrell has been charged with promotion of prostitution and is currently out on bond.
Omotoya has been charged with solicitation of prostitution.
