The Abia State Police Command has arrested a 52-year-old man for his alleged involvement in a kidnapping operation in the state.
According to preliminary police investigations, the suspect is believed to be a member of a gang linked to a recent abduction incident. Police operatives reportedly traced the suspect following actionable intelligence that connected him to the location where the victim was being held captive.
During the operation, officers successfully rescued the kidnapped victim, who had allegedly been held for some time before the intervention. Police also recovered a sum of money suspected to be ransom from the scene.
