The Edo State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man, Francis Duwa, over alleged sexual exploitation and circulation of explicit content.
The police also rescued two victims, a male and a female, from the suspect’s apartment in Benin City.
The command’s spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, who confirmed the arrest in an interview with journalists, said the suspect also allegedly sexually assaulted male victims.
According to the police spokesperson, the suspect was arrested following a distress call from residents who reported suspicious activities.
She alleged that the suspect lured victims to his residence under false pretences, exploited them, and recorded explicit content without their consent.
Ikoedem added that the suspect allegedly conspired with others to circulate the materials for financial gain.
She said items, including adult toys, were recovered from the suspect’s residence.
“The victims were rescued and exhibits recovered from the scene,” she said.
She urged youths to pursue legitimate means of livelihood.
