Ondo Police Arrest Seven Employees for Allegedly Stealing N20m Worth of Goods

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested seven suspects over an alleged conspiracy and stealing of goods valued at ₦20.45 million from a commercial store in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement issued by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the arrest followed a complaint lodged on January 3, 2026, by a resident of Ore, Ogunyomi Segun. He reported that between 2024 and January 3, 2026, some of his employees allegedly conspired to steal goods from his store.

According to the statement, the stolen items included assorted soft drinks, Trophy cans, and other canned beverages, with an estimated total value of ₦20,450,000.

Those identified as principal suspects are the complainant’s storekeeper, Oyineke Joseph; his computer operator, Abioye Yusuf; and another staff member, Abdullahi Quadir. Also arrested were three alleged receivers of the stolen goods — Michael Njoku, Agu Monday, and Ikuemehin Oloruntimilehin — as well as a driver identified as Ojewuyi.

Jimoh said that during investigation, the suspects confessed to the crime and clearly stated the roles each of them played in the unlawful act.

He added that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
