Armed bandits have abducted a pastor of the Living Faith Church, also known as Winners Chapel, in Okoro Gbedde, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.
In a separate incident, the bandits also invaded Odo-Ere in Yagba West Local Government Area, where four residents were kidnapped.
According to eyewitnesses, the pastor was traveling on a motorcycle along the Okeoffin–Okoro Gbedde axis, accompanied by a commercial rider, when they were intercepted by armed assailants. Sources said the pastor reportedly jumped off the motorcycle upon sighting the kidnappers.
“The commercial rider managed to escape unharmed, while the pastor was abducted and taken to an unknown location,” a source disclosed.
As of the time of filing this report, the kidnappers had yet to contact the pastor’s family or the church, and no ransom demand had been made.
In a separate attack, armed bandits invaded Odo-Ere community in Yagba West Local Government Area on Sunday evening, December 28, 2025, and abducted Engr. Shina Ajere, Mr. Kehinde Afolabi, Damiola Ogun, and a woman popularly known as Iya Lara.
Community sources said the situation remains fluid, with fears that more residents may have been kidnapped as families continue to search for missing persons.
The attack has thrown Odo-Ere into panic, as sporadic gunshots were reportedly heard across parts of the town, forcing residents to remain indoors.
