The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially conducted the draw for the 2025/26 CAF Champions League group stage, with Nigeria’s Rivers United finding themselves in a challenging Group A.
Rivers United will go up against defending champions Pyramids FC of Egypt, Moroccan heavyweights RS Berkane, and Zambia’s Power Dynamos in what promises to be one of the most competitive groups of the tournament.
In Group B, record 12-time winners Al Ahly of Egypt are set to clash with Tanzania’s Young Africans (Yanga SC), Moroccan champions AS FAR, and two-time African champions JS Kabylie of Algeria.
Group C features South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns, who will face Al Hilal of Sudan, MC Alger of Algeria, and St Éloi Lupopo from DR Congo.
Meanwhile, Group D includes Espérance Sportive de Tunis (Tunisia), Simba SC (Tanzania), Petro de Luanda (Angola), and Stade Malien (Mali).
The group stage is scheduled to kick off on the weekend of November 21–23, 2025, with two matchdays to be played before the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 begins.
The tournament will pause during AFCON and resume on the weekend of January 23–25, 2026, while the knockout phase will begin on March 13, 2026.
CAF has also confirmed that the 2025/26 Champions League winners will receive a $4 million prize, while the runners-up will take home $2 million.
