The world of fashion is in mourning as Giorgio Armani, the legendary Italian designer and founder of the Armani brand, has passed away at the age of 91. His company confirmed the news in a heartfelt statement released on Thursday.

In recent months, Armani had been in declining health. His absence from Milan’s Men’s Fashion Week in June marked the first time he had ever missed a show in his decades-long career, a clear sign of his dedication and the seriousness of his condition, as reported by France 24.

A funeral chamber will be set up in Milan this weekend to allow the public to pay their respects. A private funeral will follow at a later date.
