A final-year student of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, has reportedly d!ed during an abortion procedure at a private clinic.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, at Al-Hassan Clinic and Maternity, Sarkin Noma, Lokoja.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, the deceased, identified as 26-year-old Omotosho Dorcas, was six months pregnant and had gone to the clinic to terminate the pregnancy.
“She bled to d3ath during the procedure,” sources said.
Police detectives were said to have visited the scene, taken photographs, and evacuated the body to the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, for preservation.
The practitioner who carried out the procedure has been arrested, and the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation.
