Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma has tied the knot with his long-time partner and childhood sweetheart, Alessia Elefante, in a beautiful wedding ceremony held in Locorotondo, Italy.
The couple, who have been together for nearly a decade, first met in 2016 in their hometown of Castellammare di Stabia, near Naples. Alessia, an interior designer, and Donnarumma welcomed their first child, a son named Leo, in 2024.
Before exchanging vows, the newlyweds hinted at their upcoming wedding with a playful Instagram post announcing their engagement. The caption simply read: “Long-term contract signed,” delighting fans with its football-inspired message.
The star-studded celebration attracted several well-known names from the football world, including Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, Erling Haaland, Sandro Tonali, Paolo Maldini, Mateo Kovacic, and Nicolò Barella.
Haaland attended the wedding with his girlfriend, Isabel Haugseng Johansen, after spending part of his post-World Cup break in Italy. The Norwegian striker has remained in the spotlight following an impressive international campaign that saw Norway reach the quarter-finals and boosted his popularity on social media.
Donnarumma joined Manchester City from Paris Saint-Germain last summer in a deal worth £26 million. The Italian goalkeeper enjoyed an impressive first season at the Etihad, helping the club lift both the FA Cup and the League Cup.
