Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP informant loitering near a military facility at the Muhammadu Buhari International Cargo Airport in Damaturu, Yobe State.
The suspect was apprehended at about 5:30 a.m. on April 23, 2026, by troops of Sector 2 deployed at the airport.
According to a security analyst, the individual was spotted behaving suspiciously around the troops’ location and was immediately taken into custody. Efforts to obtain useful information from him at the point of arrest were unsuccessful.
He was subsequently transferred to the Military Intelligence Bureau (MIB) for further interrogation and necessary action.
Sources added that the overall security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, while troops’ morale and combat efficiency remain high.
