US President Donald Trump has warned that American forces will remain deployed around Iran and threatened that “bigger, better, and stronger” attacks could be launched if a “real” agreement between Washington and the Islamic Republic is not reached.

In a late Wednesday post on social media, Trump said US troops, aircraft, and naval forces would stay in position until what he described as the “REAL AGREEMENT” is fully implemented. “If for any reason it is not, which is highly unlikely, then the ‘shootin’ starts’—bigger, better, and stronger than anyone has ever seen before,” he wrote. “It was agreed a long time ago, and despite all of the fake rhetoric to the contrary—no nuclear weapons, and the Strait of Hormuz will be open and safe.”

He added: “In the meantime, our great military is loading up and resting, looking forward, actually, to its next conquest. America is back.”

The warning comes just a day after a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran, brokered by Pakistan, paused six weeks of fighting. The truce followed Trump’s earlier warning that a “whole civilisation will die” if hostilities continued.

The conflict began on February 28, when the United States and Israel carried out strikes on Iran. Former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was reportedly killed in the early days of the war.

As the fighting escalated, Iran restricted the number of ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical route for global crude oil shipments.

Peace talks between Iran and the United States are set to take place in Islamabad over the weekend. J.D. Vance will lead the US delegation, according to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

“The first round of those talks will take place on Saturday morning local time,” Leavitt said. “Vice President Vance has played a very significant and key role in this from the very beginning.”

She added that he has been involved in ongoing discussions and will now lead this new phase of negotiations in Islamabad later this week.
