, third baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies, has filed a multi-million-dollar lawsuit against his parents, alleging they diverted substantial sums of his money into accounts under their control and used part of the funds for personal expenses.

The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday, March 24, in a Philadelphia court, follows Bohm’s recent review of his personal and financial affairs. He claims his parents refused to grant him access to the accounts or provide requested information about them.

According to the suit, his parents attempted to “freeze” him out of four accounts set up as limited liability companies. Bohm alleges they “converted a sizeable amount” of his money from those accounts for their own use. By the time he sought clarification, millions of dollars had already been transferred from his personal accounts into accounts they controlled.

Bohm’s parents, Daniel and Lisa Bohm, have denied any wrongdoing. Through their lawyer, Robert Eckard, they said they are “deeply saddened by the allegations” and will vigorously defend themselves. Eckard also stated that Bohm has had full access to the accounts and that his parents have been covering his expenses using their personal credit cards.

“Mr. and Mrs. Bohm love their son very much and have always acted in his best interests, both personally and professionally, and continue to do so,” Eckard said.

After Thursday’s 2026 season opener, Bohm declined to comment, telling reporters, “I’m not going to address any personal matters right now.”

Both sides agree the first of the accounts was established in 2019. According to the lawsuit, his parents assigned themselves a 10% stake for administrative purposes, while assuring Bohm he remained the “true” owner of all LLC assets.

The accounts were reportedly used for various purposes, including investments in securities and real estate. The lawsuit also alleges that funds from the Alec Bohm Foundation were used to cover his parents’ personal expenses.

Bohm is seeking at least $3 million in damages, full control of the accounts, and the appointment of an independent accountant to trace all funds transferred from his personal accounts.

The lawsuit further states that his parents currently live in a recreational vehicle and travel across the country.

Bohm, 29, is earning $10.2 million under his contract with the Phillies for the 2026 MLB season.
