A man who was kidnapped by suspected herdsmen has reunited with his family after escaping from captivity, recounting his ordeal.
The victim, identified as Mr Anene, was abducted from his work site on March 16 alongside other individuals.
Following the abduction, the kidnappers reportedly demanded a ransom of N15 million from his family.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Mr Anene returned home on Thursday, March 19, after escaping from the kidnappers’ hideout.
He was seen limping as family members and neighbours gathered to welcome him back. Supported on both sides by two men, he winced in pain while walking.
In an emotional moment, his wife was heard saying over the phone, “Sister, my husband is back. My husband is back. Thank you, Jesus.”
Mr Anene revealed that three other victims were still being held in the hideout at the time of his escape, including a woman who was abducted alongside him.
He also alleged that the woman had been subjected to sexual abuse by the kidnappers.
