Socialite Cubana Chief Priest has said he cannot help IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu secure his release if he aligns with opposition parties.

His remarks came shortly after social critic Very Dark Man (VDM) called him out for working with a political support group backing President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.

In a video shared online, VDM highlighted footage of Chief Priest meeting with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, a member of the APC, alongside other supporters of the president. The critic described Chief Priest’s involvement with the APC as hypocritical, referencing a post the socialite made in November 2025.

In that earlier post, Chief Priest reportedly told President Tinubu that the APC would struggle to secure even 10,000 votes in the South East during the 2027 elections if Nnamdi Kanu remained in prison. He described Kanu as the “Supreme Leader of the South East,” suggesting that only the release of the IPOB leader could guarantee support from the region for Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

Chief Priest, however, defended his stance, explaining that he cannot intervene on Kanu’s behalf while siding with opposition parties, implying that political alignment affects one’s ability to influence such matters.
