Elon Musk has appeared in a newly released set of documents connected to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, with records indicating a 2013 email exchange between the Tesla and SpaceX CEO and the late financier regarding a possible visit to Epstein’s private island.
According to the documents, Musk emailed Epstein in December 2013, stating that he would be in the British Virgin Islands during the holiday period and asking whether it would be a suitable time to stop by the island. The correspondence appears to conflict with Musk’s previous public statements in which he said he declined invitations from Epstein to visit the property.
Epstein responded two days later, telling Musk that he was welcome to visit at the beginning of the new year, adding that there was “always space for you.” He followed up again on Christmas Day, offering to arrange pickup for Musk on January 2 or January 3.
Musk initially replied that he would need to return to Los Angeles on the evening of January 2, but later suggested he could instead arrive on January 1. Epstein responded that any date between January 1 and January 8 would be suitable and proposed that they “play it by ear.”
The documents do not indicate whether the visit ultimately took place.
This is not the first time Musk’s name has surfaced in materials linked to Epstein. During an earlier document release in September, Musk was referenced, prompting him to publicly distance himself from Epstein. At the time, Musk wrote on social media that Epstein had invited him to the island and that he refused.
Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while in custody at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, where he was awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.
Musk has been contacted for comment regarding the latest document release, but as of publication, no response has been provided.
