The body of a man earlier reported kidnapped has been discovered in a mining pond in the Farin Lamba community of Jos South Local Government Area, Plateau State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post on X on Friday, October 24.
According to him, the discovery was made by the police after residents alerted authorities to the presence of a corpse in the pond.
The Divisional Police Officer of Kaduna Vom Division reportedly led a team of officers to the scene, where the body was identified as that of Mr. Cyril Nilanda, a resident of NITR Quarters, Vom.
Nilanda was said to have been kidnapped on September 30, 2025, and had remained missing until his body was found.
Sources said the decomposed body was recovered and prepared for evacuation and forensic examination.
Police authorities assured that efforts are ongoing to track down those responsible for Nilanda’s abduction and murder.
