Kim Kardashian has spoken candidly about the challenges of co-parenting her four children with rapper Kanye West.

In a new interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the 44-year-old reality star reflected on raising her children — North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm — with her ex-husband, whom she divorced in 2021 after a decade-long relationship.

When host Alex Cooper asked what co-parenting with West is like, Kardashian admitted, “It’s not easy. But I mean, I raise the kids full-time. They live with me. I welcome a great, healthy relationship between my kids and their dad, and I think he knows that.”

She continued, “I push for it all the time, but I also protect them when it’s time for that. It goes in waves and phases — it’s a lot of work.”

Asked when West last saw his children, Kardashian replied, “Whenever he’ll call for them and ask. It’s probably been a couple of months since we’ve heard from him.”

When questioned about whether her children feel disappointed about that, Kardashian said they understand their father’s busy and international lifestyle. “They always knew that he had a big life — traveling around the world, living in different countries — and we manage it really well,” she explained.

“They love their life, their routine, and their schedule. My job as their mom is just to make sure they stick to that routine and stay healthy and happy. Look, it’s not easy co-parenting with anyone,” she added.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star also addressed what she called a false narrative about her allegedly keeping the kids from West.

“That’s the one thing that just gets me — this idea that I keep the kids away from him,” she said. “I’ve never once done that. There have been so many times I’ve wanted to show all the texts, like, ‘What are you talking about?’ We just haven’t heard from him. I’ve begged them to go hang out.”

She continued, “Then I wake up and there are all these tweets about how I’ve kidnapped the kids, and I’m like — it’s not kidnapping, it’s a divorce. We can still be in each other’s lives and have group dinners.”

Kardashian emphasized that she has “always let [the kids] see their father” whenever West asks, but she sometimes sets boundaries if a situation feels “really super unhealthy” amid his public controversies.

“I’ll say, ‘Hey, let’s do it here at my house,’ or, ‘Let’s figure out a different time,’” she recalled. “But when he’s like that, he doesn’t really want to see the kids a lot. So it’s always worked out.”

She also noted that she allows the children to visit him abroad “every time he asks,” from Saudi Arabia to Japan.

“I’ve never once denied it,” Kardashian reiterated. “That narrative really sucks for me. But I’m not that girl who’s going to go online and fight back — like, ‘Wait a minute, your assistant said you wanted a different birthday party!’ The reality is so different from what people see, and that just really sucks.”
