BBNaija star Uriel Oputa has opened up with a powerful and emotional message about the harsh judgment women—especially public figures—face regarding their motherhood and reproductive choices.
In a heartfelt post, Uriel expressed her frustration over how private decisions about motherhood have become public debates, often turning into platforms for criticism and shaming. She highlighted how women are dragged and criticized for choosing different paths to motherhood, whether it’s natural birth, surrogacy, or IVF.
According to Uriel, no matter what a woman decides, it rarely feels like enough for the public. She reminded everyone that behind these choices are real women with feelings, silent struggles, and private pain.
“So what if a woman brings a child into the world?” she asked. “Instead of celebrating life, people start comparing, saying things like ‘when I was breastfeeding, I didn’t do this’ or ‘why didn’t she do that?’ Everyone’s story is different. Even siblings from the same parents aren’t the same.”
Uriel also called out the public’s tendency to feel entitled to judge women’s personal lives, referencing well-known personalities like Toke Makinwa, Tiwa Savage, and Hilda Baci—who frequently face intense scrutiny.
“Are you them?” she questioned. “Everyone’s journey is unique. Nigerians can really be shameless sometimes.”
In her message, Uriel condemned the culture of bringing women down for simply creating life. She urged everyone to reflect on their own hearts instead of tearing others apart.
“I hate seeing other women being pulled down. It’s disgusting. Ask yourself why you’re not progressing — it’s your heart. I’ll continue to defend Toke or whoever I wish.”
Uriel’s bold stance is a call for empathy, respect, and support among women, reminding us all that every motherhood journey deserves to be honored, not judged.
