Renowned international evangelist and founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, has passed away at the age of 80.
The news was confirmed in a statement from his family titled “Glorious Transition”, announcing that the revered clergyman went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2025.
Described as “a faithful soldier of the cross,” Rev. Ukpai spent over six decades in active ministry, known for his passionate evangelism, deep teaching of the Word of God, and powerful prophetic ministry. His influence spanned across Nigeria and reached audiences around the world.
“With hearts full of gratitude, we celebrate the triumphant homegoing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai… A faithful soldier of the cross has been called to rest,” the family wrote.
They went on to describe him as a “spiritual general, a founding father of faith, a loving husband, a devoted father, and a mentor to many.”
Though his passing is deeply felt, his legacy remains strong through the countless lives he touched and the ministries he helped build.
The family noted that funeral arrangements will be shared in due course and thanked the public for the outpouring of love and support.
