Nigeria’s Department of State Services (DSS) has issued a fresh warning to the public, urging citizens to steer clear of Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, a former operative who was dismissed from the agency. According to the DSS, Godwin has been fraudulently using the Service’s name to scam unsuspecting Nigerians.

In a statement released on Sunday, the DSS cautioned that Godwin is involved in “unscrupulous activities” and is not affiliated with the agency in any capacity. The Service emphasized that members of the public should avoid any interactions or transactions with him.

“He is reportedly engaging in unscrupulous activities, including using the name of the Service to defraud unsuspecting members of the public,” the DSS stated.

To ensure proper communication and avoid falling victim to such scams, the DSS advised citizens to reach out directly through its official channels. Inquiries, complaints, or verifications can be made via phone at 09088373515 or email at [email protected].

This latest advisory comes just days after a similar alert was issued regarding another dismissed operative, Barry Donald, who was also accused of misusing the DSS identity for fraudulent purposes.

The DSS continues to urge the public to remain vigilant and to always verify the identity of anyone claiming to represent the agency before engaging in any form of interaction.
