Lagos Vice Chairperson Passes Away Two Months After Taking Office

Princess Oluremi Ajose, the Vice Chairperson of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Her remains have since been taken to a morgue.

Princess Ajose was the daughter of His Royal Majesty, Oba Oyekan Possi Ajose, the Alapa of Apa Egun-Awori Kingdom. She died barely two months after being sworn in alongside Badagry West LCDA Chairman, Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren, popularly known as RIKAY.

Her death was confirmed on Sunday in a condolence statement by the Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon.

Describing her passing as a “great loss to Badagry Division and Lagos State,” Kumayon said:

“It is with deep sorrow that I received the shocking news of the passing of our beloved sister, Princess Oluremi Nutayan Ajose, Vice Chairman of Badagry West LCDA. She was a true servant of the people — a leader known for compassion, humility, and unwavering commitment to grassroots development.”

He added:

“Her dedication and warm spirit touched many lives across Badagry and beyond. Her departure is a significant loss not only to Badagry West LCDA but to the entire Badagry Division and Lagos State as a whole.”

Kumayon offered condolences on behalf of the government and people of Olorunda LCDA:

“We take comfort in knowing she lived a purposeful life, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, diligence, and love for humanity. Our heartfelt condolences go to her family, the government of Badagry West LCDA, and the entire Ajose family. May God grant us strength to bear this irreparable loss, and may her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”

At the time of this report, the cause of Princess Ajose’s death had not been disclosed.
